Who We Are

The Loan Fund is an award-winning nonprofit organization that provides loans, as well as consulting and training services, to small businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations across New Mexico. Most of our clients are unable to obtain financing through banks or credit unions. 

The Loan Fund was founded in 1989 to help alleviate poverty by creating and preserving job opportunities throughout New Mexico, particularly in low-income and underserved communities. The Loan Fund has made over $108 million in loans that have helped create or preserve over 11,500 jobs in New Mexico since inception.

With deep gratitude and profound sadness, we honor the life and legacy of our beloved CEO, Leroy, whose vision, leadership, and compassion shaped our company and community for over 18 years.

Service Information:

Leroy’s service will be held at 8:00 AM on April 24th, 2025 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St NW (4th at Alameda) in Albuquerque. The burial will take place in Mora county with close family members.
