At The Loan Fund, we’re committed to fueling the success of New Mexico entrepreneurs — including those who’ve served in the military. We’ve provided over $1.7 million in financing and lines of credit to nearly a dozen veteran-owned small businesses, helping them expand, create jobs, support New Mexico families, and build stronger communities.
Meet a few of these outstanding veteran entrepreneurs:
Sandra Reynolds, owner of 5 Star Burgers in Taos
When the longtime owner of 5 Star Burgers in Taos began planning for retirement, employees were unsure about the restaurant’s future. After 14 years as general manager, Air Force veteran Sandra Reynolds considered stepping up to purchase the beloved local eatery,

known for its organic beef burgers and 16-year legacy in the community.
Raymond Jaramillo, co-owner of Blacklake Roasters in Angel Fire
High in the Sangre Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico lies a unique business for coffee lovers. Raymond Jaramillo created Blacklake
Roasters in 2009 in Angel Fire after leaving the New Mexico Piñon Coffee Company where the master roaster had learned the art of coffee roasting, the process of using heat to turn green

coffee beans to dark beans for consumption. His brother, Daniel Jaramillo, a Marine veteran, joined him in the business a few years later.
Ron Edwards, owner of the Focus Group in Santa Fe
Ron Lewis Edwards, a U.S. Marine veteran, started the Focus Group Ltd. with his wife in 2006 in Santa Fe to create custom-ordered embroidered, engraved or screen-printed apparel.
