We’re Still Here for Small Businesses – Stronger Than Ever
For 36 years, The Loan Fund has been steadfast in its mission: to provide access to capital and support services that improve the economic and social conditions of New Mexicans, especially those often left behind by traditional financial institutions. Through our evolving history, one truth has remained: we exist to empower entrepreneurs and nonprofits to build, grow, and thrive.
While we have recently undergone a change in leadership, our foundation remains rock solid. This moment marks not a disruption, but a renewal—a recommitment to the values that shaped us and the mission that guides us. We are entering a new chapter of growth, innovation, and outreach, focused squarely on serving small businesses across the state with the same heart and hustle that brought us here more than three decades ago.
Our clients—beauticians, truckers, childcare providers, restaurant owners, farmers, and so many others—are the heartbeat of New Mexico’s economy. You’ve trusted us with your dreams, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. That’s why we’re refining our systems, expanding our team, and strengthening our programs to better meet your evolving needs.
In the coming weeks, you’ll see our new online payment and educational tools on our new website designed to make working with us smoother. We’re also launching a social media campaign that breaks down the borrowing process in clear, simple terms to help future borrowers become loan-ready because preparation leads to empowerment.
At our core, we remain the same mission-driven Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), built for New Mexicans who may not qualify for conventional loans, but who have the passion, grit, and vision to build something meaningful. That hasn’t changed—it never will.
Thank you for being part of our story. Thank you for letting us be part of yours. We’re here. We’re growing. We’re ready to serve—stronger than ever.
